A statement purported to be authored by one Selorm from the Volta Region making wild allegations and peddling untruths about Mr. Kwabena Abankwa-Yeboah is nothing but a desperate attempt by opponents in the National Treasurer race to soil the hard earned reputation of the national treasurer and pitch him against delegates from the Volta Region.
Mr. Abankwah-Yeboah enjoyed massive support and endorsement from delegates of the Volta Region. It was overwhelming how constituency after constituency, from North to South and to Central Volta declared their unflinching support to the candidature of Mr. Abankwah-Yeboah. We believe that this reality has travelled to the camps of other candidates and they are surprised why their lies are still not being bought by delegates.
Team Abankwa-Yeboah wishes to place on records that, on no occasion have party people from the Volta Region visited the office of the National Treasurer in their numbers and on no occasion has any group of people irrespective of where they come from received bad treatment from the office of the national treasurer.
Mr. Abankwah-Yeboah has maintained a very good relationship with all party people in his long service to the party and he has never been disrespectful to any group of people who visit the party office.
As for squandering of money allegations, it is common and normal to people who keep treasuries for organizations. But we can assure him and other patriots who may want confirmation that the audited financial statement of the party has been adopted by the party and no adverse findings were made against Mr. Abankwah-Yeboah. He has held the national treasurer office with integrity and accountability.
Team Abankwah-Yeboah wishes to advise aspirants to do clean campaign devoid of attacks and lies. If they have qualities, good message, experience and track record, they should communicate that to delegates because that is what delegates are yearning for and that is what they have found in Mr. Abankwah-Yeboah that make them pledge their support for him.
